SHISHIKU BUDOKAI
Our program constitutes mainly of Meibukan Goju Ryu Karatedo and Ryukyu Kobudo Shimbukan. As a Philippine-based dojo, it is also imperative that students also learn Arnis and other Filipino martial arts. We represent Modern Arnis Tapi Tapi in our dojo. Arnis is the national sport and martial art of the Philippines.

Our crest is the Japanese kanji character for “Lion” and red stands for bravery. The circle stands for completeness. The white background is purity of heart and mind. The Lion, Shishi in Japanese, have been a symbol for bravery and nobility. The lion stands as a guard in many civilizations. We are guardians of the right budo path, and to the safekeeping and cultivation of the traditional martial arts. Traditionally, there are two lions, the one with open mouth, and the one with closed mouth. This stands for Yin and Yang, Sun and Moon, Hard and Soft, Go and Ju. The lion has also been attributed to Buddha’s teachings, hence “the lion’s roar” or "shishiku".
With heavy influence from Buddhism, students are expected, implicitly, to follow the 8 fold path.
